The Race to Dubai
The Race to Dubai is a golf event unlike any other, and not only because of the riches and prize money on offer to those who do well. But because it is a season-long race that offers more prize money than any other golf tournament in the world, and which replaces the European Tour Order of Merit from 2009. The race culminates with the Dubai World Championship (hence
the name, Race to Dubai), where the leading sixty players on the European money list compete to take a slice of a US$10,000,000 Bonus Pool. The winner gets $2,000,000, the runner up $1,500,000 and the third placed player $1,000,000. The next twelve players also receive a cash prize, right down to the fifteenth player who receives $250,000.
